[en] About This Site

We started this website mainly because we had the feeling that especially in Germany there is a lot of interest about the ZAD. But for many people there seems to be no way to get to know enough without spending days of research in order to make a decision whether to keep on to the topic, let alone to decide to actually do something for the ZAD – or even go there.

We felt this could be due to 2 reasons:

1. The “main” website zad.nadir.org pretty much mirrors the character of the whole ZAD itself; a dynamic, beautiful, diverse and complex structure that develops according to who ever is contributing. But that also means that sometimes it’s hard to find basic information quickly (so, our aim is to develop something complimentary, contributing to the information net of the ZAD, rather then trying to build the “better” website, which is impossible ; )

2. It is very hard to find up-to-date information in English – and in German it is even more difficult.

This site should therefore mainly meet those two needs by trying to…

a) focus on compressed practical information, to make it easy for people to get involved quickly (even if it’s just knowing where to get deeper information about certain aspects).

and

b) provide all the information in 2 languages: English and German.

How can I help?

Great that you ask! Because indeed we need help. If you want to translate or if you are interested in collecting and structuring information, you are most welcome to join in.

Just write an e-mail to zadinfo[ät]riseup.net

Or if you would like to just sent us important news or interesting pictures you found, do the same and write us.

Concerning the different translations we will often provide equivalents of the information rather then exact translations (especially when linking other sources for deeper information).

So if you are interested and you are able to speak more than one of the 2 given languages, you can check the other language for the same topic (pages, posts) as well and you might find even more interesting stuff.
